April Jannette McDowell joins the 2020 San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame Class. A native San Franciscan, April learned to play basketball at an early age. She was a stellar basketball player at both Mission and McAteer High School earning numerous honors under coaches Nate Lewis and Fred Glosser.

Highlights include SF Examiner AAA All Star Girls Basketball Team, AAA Leading scorer, SF Progress AAA Girls All City Basketball Team, and many other awards in her High School career which concluded in 1984 when she entered College Of San Mateo. Coached by Tom Martinez at CSM she went on to earn many more awards in college during her 1984 season.

Today April still works in San Francisco and continues to stay active thru fitness and exercise.
