Message from the President

Now in our 37th year, the SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME boasts a significant membership of individuals who have left a lasting impact on the San Francisco prep sports scene from 1914 through 2019. It is through our volunteers’ perseverance, diligence, and commitment that we are able to make our vision come alive.

Each year, on the third Saturday in the month of May, the SFPHOF Board gathers to induct and honor individuals who have had outstanding performances and achievements during their high school careers.

Within our website, you will find a searchable list of MEMBERS OF THE SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME. The list showing each individual by year of induction, listing school(s) attended, and sport(s) played or coached. There is also a list of inducted officials, media persons, and individuals inducted under “Special Recognition.”

There is also a four-page SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME Nomination form that can be downloaded, filled out, and returned for consideration, by September 1st by the Board by mid-November, each year, there will be a page on the website announcing the Annual SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME Awards Banquet, listing the inductee honorees, plus information regarding the banquet.

The SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME also annually awards the Elwood “China” Lang Scholarships to a graduating male and female scholar-athlete from a San Francisco High School.

To continue this worthy project annually, we respectfully solicit financial aid from individuals, the schools, and the business community to enable us to continue what we refer to as our “labor of love,” helping young athletes succeed.

Please consider a donation. Checks can be written to “SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME” and sent to Treasurer Jon Nakamura, 177 Knight Drive, San Rafael, CA 94901.

We welcome you to browse our website and become familiar with the SAN FRANCISCO PREP HALL OF FAME. If you have questions, we will be more than glad to answer them.
